The Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan was packed last night with reggae lovers and good vibes in anticipation of the co-headlining Matisyahu and Rebelution concert, which is the latest performance in the venue’s ongoing “Set Your Life to Music” concert series.
Matisyahu, who once looked like a Chassidic reggae superstar, took to the stage clean-shaven and without a yarmulke. His style is a blend of reggae, hip-hop, rap and beatboxing. Matisyahu got the crowd pumped with upbeat, hit songs like “King Without A Crown,” “One day” and “Sunshine.”
Rebelution took over the night with their rock-reggae fusion style of music. The band picked up where Matisyahu left off and then some when they performed such hits as “Comfort Zone,” “Day by Day” and “Sky is the Limit” from their newest album Peace of Mind. At the end of the show, the crowd went wild for an encore performance and was granted that wish with some more high-energy reggae.
